Casa de la Cultura presents Cinco de Mayo Omaha (CDMO) festival, Nebraska’s #1 cultural attraction and the proud recipient of the state’s highest tourism recognition, the 2023 Henry Fonda Award.

This year, our festivities are set to take over historic South Omaha featuring an incredible lineup of live music, Mundo de Niños/STEM Kid’s Area, our annual parade, food, exhibitors, a health fair, Zumbamania, the Adelante Gala banquet and electrifying concerts. Celebrating 104 years of Mexican festivals!

Over the 3-day weekend Omaha’s #1 diverse festival attracted some 200,000+ visitors from five states (Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, South Dakota, Nebraska) with about 65% being of Latino decent. Due to its popularity and according to TripAdvisor, CDMO is one of the top five Cinco de Mayo festivals in the country that attracts vendors from Denver, Chicago, Minneapolis, Des Moines and Kansas City. Cinco de Mayo Omaha runs an incredible marketing campaign covering four states in radio, television, social media, print, posters, banners, digital signs and media coverage.

BSF 14th Annual Golf Tournament

The Barrientos Scholarship Foundation will be hosting its 2024 Annual Golf Tournament on Friday September 13th, 2024 at Tregaron Golf Course located at 13909 Glengarry Cir, Bellevue, NE 68123. Registration will be at 9:00 am and a Shotgun Start at 10:00 am. We will serve a steak dinner afterwards; and host an awards ceremony, prizes, and lots of fun.

Casa de la Cultura & the LEDC will present Adelante Gala, the premier gathering of top-tier Latino professionals! Attended by over 400 guests, community leaders, business owners, & entrepreneurs come together to celebrate the achievements and contributions of the growing Latino community in Nebraska.

BSF’s Student Success Skill Program's mission is to seamlessly integrate education with professional development, bridging the gap between academic achievement and real-world success. Our program promotes student success with professional resources, offering opportunities for internships, apprenticeships, and post-graduation pipelines. Collaborating with many of Nebraska's top employers, we enrich the state's workforce with diverse perspectives and skills. Together, we will create a positive future where education and professional development create lasting opportunities for Nebraska's Latino Students and businesses throughout Nebraska.

Troy Romero, Ph.D. - Goodrich Director

Dr. Romero is the Chair and a Professor for the Goodrich Scholarship Program, where he has taught Lifespan Development, Autobiographical Reading and Writing, and Perspectives of US American Culture.

Efren Mendoza - B.S.N., RN.

Mr. Mendoza currently works at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE serving as an Orthopedic and Neurology registered nurse. He has been working in the healthcare field for over a decade.

The Barrientos Scholarship Foundation hosted its 2023 Annual Golf Tournament, sponsored by Geena Gomez of Alvarez Insurance Agency, on Friday October 6th at Tregaron Golf Course in Omaha.

$2,000.00 donation payable to Barrientos Scholarship Foundation Includes the following:
