Barrientos Scholarship Foundation Gives Away $600 Scholarship at Casa de la Cultura’s ‘Las Posadas’ Event

On December 5th, the Barrientos Scholarship Foundation, one of the event's sponsors, was pleased to participate in Casa de la Cultura’s annual Las Posadas celebration at the Goodwill Retail Store and Donation Center in Stockyards Plaza. This event gathered over 100 community members from across the city for a night of cultural exchange, connection, and festive cheer.
The evening featured live entertainment, festive activities, and, of course, savory bites from various local favorites such as Toximiche, Maria Bonita Mexican Cuisine, Chiltepes Restaurant, Latin Bites, and Taqueria and Pupeseria Miranda.
At the end of the night, Casa de la Cultura’s CEO Marcos Mora's warm remarks softened the atmosphere for one of the event’s most memorable moments: the Barrientos Scholarship Foundation raffling a $600 scholarship to a deserving student. The scholarship symbolizes the foundation’s commitment to empowering Latino youth and supporting their journey toward success, marking a heartfelt conclusion to an evening filled with community and celebration.

We’d like to thank Casa de la Cultura for allowing us to share our mission with its attendees and gifting a lucky student with a pathway to their educational dreams. For nearly a decade, we’ve cultivated a better Omaha by elevating talented Latino youth who will become the future ambassadors of our community. As an organization committed to uplifting Latino students, it’s our duty to equip them with the right resources and opportunities. In doing so, they not only become the best versions of themselves but also valuable contributors to the growth and success of the broader community.
