The Barrientos Scholarship Foundation's New and Improved Application is Live!
The Barrientos Scholarship Foundation is thrilled to announce that its scholarship application process has been upgraded! We’ve moved away from an external Google Form and have now integrated the application directly onto our website, creating a smoother, more engaging experience for students.
Our new application was designed with gamification in mind to make the process easier and more interactive for students. By breaking it down into manageable steps, we ensure that students remain engaged and confident while applying.
Accessibility is key, and our new application is optimized for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
The scholarship application is officially open and will close on March 31. Latino students pursuing most educational subjects, including those who are undecided, are encouraged to apply. Since 2005, BSF has awarded over $385,000 in scholarships to Latino high school and college students in the Greater Omaha area, helping to make higher education more accessible and achievable.
In 2024, thanks to the generosity of our incredible partners, including Magic Touch, Alvarez Insurance, JE Dunn, CHI Health, Nebraska Furniture Mart, OPPD, and Metropolitan Community College, BSF awarded over $50,000 in scholarships to 15 outstanding students. With the launch of our "$105K Keeping the Dream Alive" campaign, we’re setting our sights even higher. This initiative celebrates 105 years of Mexican Festivals for Cinco de Mayo and aims to raise $105,000 in scholarship funds for the 2025 Scholarship Awards Gala in May.
