JE Dunn Visits with Bryan High School’s Construction Program

The Barrientos Scholarship Foundation and its career partner JE Dunn Construction recently visited Omaha Bryan High School to engage with students in its construction program, ignite their passion for the industry, and equip them with the tools and insights necessary to lead in Nebraska’s construction landscape.

Bryan High welcomed Tony Aguilera, President of BSF, and Jaime Beltran Garcia, Project Manager at JE Dunn Construction, to share their expertise and experiences from the field. Together, Aguilera and Garcia showcased the innovative projects currently underway in the community and talked directly with the students about the exciting opportunities available to those pursuing careers in construction. Their first-hand stories served as a motivational spark, encouraging the next generation to envision a rewarding future in the industry.

The visit’s highlight was the generous donation of tools from Blue Hat, an independent construction and general equipment rental and services provider. The donated tools are poised to enrich Bryan High’s program by providing practical resources that students need to hone their skills and become the next construction leaders.

“We’re proud to invest in the next generation of construction professionals and are inspired by the talent and enthusiasm we saw at Bryan High,” said Garcia.

Bryan High's construction program offers students a hands-on learning environment that combines classroom instruction with real-world project experience. Students acquire technical skills from blueprint reading and carpentry to safety protocols and project management in a curriculum designed to mirror the demands of the modern construction industry. The program benefits from strong industry partnerships, ensuring students get exposure to current construction methods and local projects that prepare them for further education or immediate entry into the field.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Blue Hat for their invaluable support and to Bryan High for hosting us and creating an environment of learning and curiosity. Stay tuned for more updates on how BSF and our partners continue to make a difference in the educational journeys and professional lives of young innovators in our community.
